We'd like to recognize six outstanding art students for their participation in this year’s NYSATA (New York State Art Teacher’s Association) Portfolio Project. Last week, these students hauled their artwork to Ithaca High School for this extremely daunting task!
In the months ahead of the event, students created and presented original artworks, and developed written statements to show authentic evidence of understanding and learning. Many days in class were spent designing,
editing, perfecting, and practicing. Students then presented their work to an adjudicator 1-on-1 during the event. These students received direct feedback on their work and were scored on 9 components.
We are thrilled to share that every student scored as “Distinguished,” the highest level of mastery available. Their hard work and bravery really paid off!
